HAMP CREW INFO
Becoming a member of the Crew is an amazing experience....
Commitment
Each level of rowing carries its own expectations of commitment. During your novice year we ask that you are able to attend 90% of all practices, regattas and events. We understand that this is a new sport with larger expectations then other teams. We ask that you review the team schedule and determine whether you are able to make this level of commitment before you register. You are more then welcome to join the team no matter what, we just want to let you know that attendance plays a major role in boatings for races. Seniors are encouraged to join the novice team, but the coaches want to make it clear that our focus will be on students who will be moving up to the varsity level.
As a varsity rower you are expected to attend 99.9% of all practices, regattas and fundraisers. Exceptions are always made for extenuating circumstances, SAT's and other such tests. You are asked to let your coach know of these dates within the first week of practice. As always, attendance plays a big role in boatings.
All rowers are expected to participate in all fundraisers. Williston rowers are not required to raise money for the events but are required to participate at the events--so long as it does not conflict with Saturday classes.
Because HAMP CREW is a volunteer-based team, we ask that each parent also be involved in team events and fundraisers.
Progression Through HAMP CREW
As you go through your years at HAMP CREW, there are a few bench marks that we like to recognize.
