8/16/10- WEBSITE CHANGES If you are a frequent visitor of www.hampcrew.com, you may have questioned your eyes or memory over the past week or two. I am here to tell you that, in fact, your senses have not fooled you. While registration has been ongoing, we did not want to shut down the website as we make (daily) changes. We are trying to provide a simpler user experience, clean up redundancy, provide up-to-date information, while also providing latest program registration links for the final Youth Learn-to-Row session and the fall season. If you do find yourself getting stuck, or have feedback, please email info@hampcrew.com.

8/14/10- THE PAIR AND COACH MAURER Jesse Mayhew and Luke Snelling are engaging in a challenge not unlike one that Hamp Crew rowers have experienced. They are also throwing in lots of obstacles and making their goal a bit loftier than USRowing Youth or Masters Nationals. What's fun is that they have started their journey here, at NYCRI. Rowing in the Misterka or the Bob Thompson, both rigged to row as a 2- (pair), Jesse and Luke have their eyes set on the Olympics. Last week, they asked Coach Kyle Maurer to join them in the launch and give them a few tips to help make the next step in their training. You can watch them get faster, encounter and discover ways to defeat new challenges, and get coached by Kyle at www.thepair.tv. (Episode 4: LARMS is where Kyle is seen making his tv debut.)

8/2/10 - GEARING UP FOR FALL It is August 2 and in New England this means that leaves are starting to show the slightest hint of orange and yellow. The Oxbow's Ski Show Team finished up their season this past weekend when they hosted the Northeast Regional Water Ski Show competition- and placed first! As the huge horse-power motors are quieting down for the summer more of the "little aluminum skiffs," as the Water Ski Show Team fondly refers to the coaching launches, are getting fueled up. The youth and master Learn-to-Rows are looking for registration packets for more rowing. The coaches are busy fixing boats and getting ready for the flood of rowers. Hamp Crew is about to begin another fall, twelfth to be exact, and the boathouse, rowers, coaches, and launches are starting to buzz with energy and excitement for August 23, Varsity Preseason, to act as the official kick-off of the Hamp Crew fall season.
